HISTORY AND NOTES:
"Ghosttown" was the second single released from Rebel Heart. As an immediate fan favorite, many had high hopes for "Ghosttown"'s success on radio and the charts. Unfortunately, even with a well-received video and some TV performances, the song fell short of even appearing on the Bubbling Under Hot 100. However, several remixes helped it to become Madonna's record-setting 45th #1 hit on the Dance Club Songs chart (Madonna now has more #1's than any other artist on any singular chart). No physical formats of the single were released in the USA except for an extremely limited promo CD-R.
Elsewhere, "Ghosttown" returned Madonna to the Adult Top 40 chart for a brief 2-week stay, but its strongest showing was on the Adult Contemporary chart where it peaked at #18 and had a healthy 12-week run.

What's the point if the Twitter chart ? Will it count as streaming ? Seems it only works for other artists ..not Madonna.. that's US HOT 100 corruption charts.

ReplyDeleteThough it spent just two weeks in the 40-position Adult Top 40 chart, "Ghosttown" spent a number of weeks in the 41-50 range before reaching the top 40 (listed as New & Active for several weeks via BDS).
