Die Another Day (2002)
FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, Double 12" Vinyl, CD Maxi-Single
HISTORY AND NOTES:
"Die Another Day" was the title track and first single from the James Bond movie of the same name. It was released in the Fall of 2002 while Madonna was working on her next album, American Life.
CD and 12" Vinyl maxi formats were released, as well as a 7" vinyl (one of her last in the USA). Various promo releases featured additional dubs and edits.
"Die Another Day" was Madonna's 35th Top 10 hit, at the time pushing her ahead of the Beatles and only second to Elvis for the artist with the most Top 10 hits. It peaked at #1 on the Singles Sales and Club Play charts, and also on the Maxi-Singles Sales chart where it stayed at #1 for 16 weeks! This is Madonna's longest-running #1 on that chart. The song would go on to appear on 2003's American Life album, as well as the 2009 greatest hits album, Celebration.
