HISTORY AND NOTES: Madonna began the '90's by releasing the fifth and final single from the Like A Prayer album, "Keep It Together".

This was Madonna's first-ever single to be released on the CD maxi format in the USA. The promoted version of the song was the Single Remix, which was a shorter edit of the 12" Remix. Several other remixes and edits appeared across all the physical and promotional formats, including a promo-only 7" Remix, which was a slightly remixed version of the album cut. The 7" vinyl release of "Keep It Together" is extremely collectible since it was her last USA 7" to be released with a picture sleeve, and it was issued only in small quantities.

"Keep It Together" turned out to be a pretty decent hit, considering it was already the fifth single from the album and had no video to promote it. It hit the Top 10 on the Hot 100 and was certified Gold. "Keep It Together" was also Madonna's tenth #1 hit on the Club Play chart. The song has yet to be featured on any hits compilations.
