FORMATS: Digital Download
HISTORY AND NOTES:
"Girl Gone Wild" was the second single released from 2012's MDNA album. The Digital download was released just a few days before the release of the album. Once again, no physical formats were released for the single in the USA, though a variety of remixes were available digitally.
"Girl Gone Wild" missed the Hot 100 and Bubbled Under at #6 (the equivalent of a #106 position). Its greatest success was on the Club Play chart where the remixes pushed it to #1. The song did, however, chart for two weeks on the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart (peaking at #38). This was the first time since the Music album in 2000 that Madonna placed two songs on the Mainstream Top 40 chart (with "Music" and "Don't Tell Me").
