Sorry (2006)

FORMATS: Digital Download, CD Maxi-Single, Double 12" Vinyl

HISTORY AND NOTES:
Madonna followed "Hung Up" by releasing "Sorry" as the second single from Confessions On A Dance Floor.

CD and 12" Vinyl maxi formats were released in addition to digital downloads. Many remixes were featured on the releases in addition to a remix of the album cut "Let It Will Be".

Unfortunately, the song didn't do as well in the USA as "Hung Up". "Sorry" failed to appear on the Hot 100 Airplay chart at all and digital sales for the single were minimal compared to those of "Hung Up". Because of this, "Sorry" peaked at a modest #58 on the Hot 100, and spent only 6 weeks total on the chart. It did, however, go to #1 on all the usual dance charts, furthering Madonna's success in the genre; "Sorry" became Madonna's 35 #1 hit on the Club Play chart. Overall, the single was a disappointment in the USA. Worldwide, the song was another smash hit. "Sorry" was included on Madonna's 2009 greatest hits album, Celebration.
