Causing A Commotion (1987)
FORMATS: 7" Viny, 12" Vinyl, Cassette Single, Cassette Maxi-Single
HISTORY AND NOTES: “Causing A Commotion” was the second and final U.S. single from the Who’s That Girl soundtrack (“The Look of Love” was released as the third single overseas).
The 7" and cassette singles featured a new mix of the track (the Silver Screen Single Mix), which featured some re-recorded vocals by Madonna and a more polished production. The B-side for all formats was the True Blue album track "Jimmy Jimmy". The 12" vinyl and the Cassette maxi-single included several extended mixes: the full-length Silver Screen Mix, Movie House Mix, and a Dub mix. A shorter version of the Movie House Mix, called the Movie House Edit, was available on the promo 7" vinyl.
On the charts, "Causing A Commotion" hit #2's across the board on the Hot 100, Singles Sales, and Radio Airplay charts. It did, however, reach #1 on both the Maxi-Singles Sales and Club Play charts. The song has yet to be featured on any Madonna hits album.
