Material Girl (1985)

FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, 12" Vinyl

HISTORY AND NOTES: "Material Girl", one of Madonna's signature 80's songs, was the second singe released from Like A Virgin.

Both 7" and 12" vinyls were released, and they both featured the album track "Pretender" on the b-side. The 12" featured the Extended Dance Remix of the title track.

"Material Girl" was another big hit for Madonna and just missed hitting #1 on the Hot 100 by peaking at #2 for 2 weeks. The song hit the Top 5 on several other charts but the only one where it reached #1 was on the Club Play chart. This was also Madonna's first 12" to appear on the newly-established Maxi-Singles Sales chart.
