Deeper And Deeper (1992)
FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, 12" Vinyl, Cassette Single, Cassette Maxi-Single, CD Single, CD Maxi-Single
HISTORY AND NOTES: Madonna followed up the "Erotica" single by releasing the more accessible "Deeper And Deeper" as the second single from Erotica.
The then-usual 6 physical formats were released, featuring an array of remixes, many of them being promo-only. The Edit version of "Deeper And Deeper" that was featured on the singles is actually a slightly remixed version and not just an edit of the album version.
"Deeper And Deeper" only reached #7 on the Hot 100. It was pretty uncommon back then for a second single from a Madonna album to not go Top 5, but "Deeper And Deeper" was a pretty decent hit anyway. Like "Erotica", "Deeper And Deeper" also went to #1 on both of the dance charts, and peaked at #2 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart. "Deeper And Deeper" went on to be included on Madonna's 2001 hits album GHV2.
