Rescue Me (1991)

FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, 12" Vinyl, Cassette Single, Cassette Maxi-Single, CD Max-Single.

HISTORY AND NOTES: The second single from The Immaculate Collection, "Rescue Me" was not intended to be a single at all, but radio started playing the song and that prompted the record company to release it. In fact, the song debuted on the airplay chart in December of 1990 but didn’t debut on the Hot 100 until March of 1991, after the commercial single was released. The single releases and promos included a variety of remixes and dub versions.

"Rescue Me" was another Top 10 Hot 100 hit for Madonna, but only spent a brief 8 week stay on the chart, beating out "Hanky Panky" for least weeks on the Hot 100. The #15 debut of "Rescue Me" on the chart was the highest ever entry for Madonna at this point. The only chart in which "Rescue Me" hit #1 on was the Maxi-Singles Sales chart. Unfortunately, it missed the Top 5 on Club Play by peaking at #6. "Rescue Me" has yet to be included on any of Madonna's hits compilations.
