What It Feels Like For A Girl (2001)

HISTORY AND NOTES:
Originally planned as the second single from Music, "What It Feels Like For A Girl" was instead released as the third and final single from the album in the Spring of 2001.

Unfortunately, "What It Feels Like For A Girl" was only released on maxi formats in the USA (a practice that would soon become a trend for the next several years for Madonna's USA single releases). The lack of 2-track editions (notably a 2-track CD) probably hindered sales a bit as the song only managed to peak at #23 on the Hot 100 and lasted only a brief 10 weeks on the chart. The controversial video was also released as a DVD single.

"What It Feels Like For A Girl" did reach #1 on the Maxi-Singles Sales and Club Play charts, furthering Madonna's success in the dance genre. The song was also featured on 2001's GHV2 compilation.
