Crazy For You (1985)

FORMATS: 7" Vinyl

HISTORY AND NOTES: In 1985, Madonna made her first movie appearance in the film Vision Quest, for which she also recorded the song "Crazy For You". Released just weeks after "Material Girl", "Crazy For You" was Madonna's first-ever ballad single.

The single was released on 7" vinyl by Geffen Records, who also released the accompanying movie soundtrack. The single was backed by the Berlin track "No More Words". A 12" was not released for "Crazy For You" in the USA, although one was released in Europe.

"Crazy For You" became Madonna's second #1 hit on the Hot 100, spending a total of 21 weeks on the chart. It peaked at #2 on Adult Contemporary and also made a brief appearance on the R&B chart where it topped out at #80. It would also go on to be featured on 3 of Madonna's hits compilations: 1990's The Immaculate Collection, 1995's Something To Remember, and 2009's Celebration.
