HISTORY AND NOTES:
In support of her first ever career-spanning greatest hits album of the same name, Madonna released "Celebration" as the first single from the collection in the Fall of 2009.

The song was released digitally at first, with CD Maxi and 12" Vinyl Maxi formats following with new cover artwork (The artwork for these releases is actually based on a Madonna picture from 1992).

While not a big hit by any means, "Celebration" did manage one week on the Hot 100 at its peak position of #71. It was another #1 hit on both the Club Play and Dance Singles Sales charts (her monumental 40th #1 on Club Play), but surprisingly it was her first single to not hit #1 on the Dance Airplay chart since "Love Profusion" back in 2004, breaking her streak of 7 consecutive #1 hits that started with "Hung Up" and ended with "Miles Away".
