Bad Girl (1993)

FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, 12" Vinyl, Cassette Single, Cassette Maxi-Single, CD Single, CD Maxi-Single

HISTORY AND NOTES: "Bad Girl" was the third single released from 1992's Erotica album.

The Erotica track "Fever" was chosen to be the American B-side, and was prominently featured on the maxi-formats of "Bad Girl" thanks to a large ensemble of remixes that were promoted to clubs. For "Bad Girl", only one extended version was commissioned. "Fever" would soon be released as the album's fourth international single.

Chart-wise, "Bad Girl" was Madonna's first really big disappointment on the Hot 100 since 1983. It only peaked at #36 on the chart, breaking her streak of 27 consecutive Top 20 hits that had begun with "Holiday".  The song also peaked pretty low on the Airplay and Singles Sales charts, but fared better on the Maxi-Singles Sales chart thanks to the "Fever" remixes which were included. "Fever" was credited before "Bad Girl" on that chart entry. Neither "Bad Girl" or "Fever" have ever been released on any of Madonna's greatest hits albums.
