Rain (1993)
FORMATS: 7" Vinyl, 12" Vinyl, Cassette Single, Cassette Maxi-Single, CD Single, CD Maxi-Single
HISTORY AND NOTES: "Rain" was the fourth and final single released from the Erotica album. A new radio remix version was commissioned and released to radio alongside an edit of the album version.
The B-side for the single releases was "Waiting", while the maxi-formats featured a remix of that track, plus an extended version of the then-unreleased song "Goodbye To Innocence", which was labelled as "Up Down Suite". The song "Goodbye To Innocence" would soon be released on the Sire records compilation album Just Say Roe.
"Rain" returned Madonna to the Top 20 of the Hot 100 by peaking at #14. It was overall a pretty decent hit, spending 20 weeks on the Hot 100 and hitting the Adult Contemporary Top 10. None of the previous Erotica single had charted there at all. "Rain" was chosen to be included on Madonna's 1995' ballads compilation album Something To Remember.
